Trusted in Peoria

Peoria pool care, from Old Town to Lake Pleasant.

Peoria stretches from the older grid blocks around Old Town and Pioneer Park, through the family suburbs of Fletcher Heights and Terramar, into the newer master-planned communities of Vistancia, Trilogy at Vistancia, Westwing Mountain, and Cibola Vista. Pools here skew newer than most of the Valley — a lot of pebble-finish shells with variable-speed pumps and salt systems built in the last decade — with pockets of older plaster pools in the southern grid neighborhoods and an active-adult cluster up in Trilogy.

Northwest Peoria sits a few hundred feet higher than central Phoenix and gets meaningful elevation cooling at night, which slows chemistry drift in the cooler months and pushes some homeowners onto bi-weekly schedules from November through February. The Lake Pleasant fringe brings its own quirks — lakeside homes track in fine sand and lake debris on summer weekends, and homes near Daisy Mountain catch a bit more wind-blown dust during monsoon. We tune the weekly routine to the actual pool and the actual neighborhood. Licensed AZ ROC 363870, fully insured, weekly routes across every Peoria ZIP from 85345 north to 85383.

Built for Peoria water

Why Peoria pools need real upkeep.

Three things that hit Peoria pools harder than they should — even with the slight elevation break — and that we account for every visit.

Triple-digit summer UV

The Valley runs 100 days a year above 100°F. UV strips free chlorine in hours unless cyanuric acid (stabilizer) is in range — but stabilizer creeps up over time and locks chlorine from working. Your test strip reads fine; nothing is sanitizing. We track the free-chlorine-to-CYA ratio and flag partial drains when stabilizer climbs past about 50 ppm.

Monsoon season (Jun–Sep)

Arizona monsoons drop walls of dust (haboobs), then dump 1–2″ of rain in 30 minutes, then leave another week of mesquite and palm debris falling overnight. Cleanup is part of your regular weekly visit — we don’t upcharge for monsoon work, and we time routes around the forecast when possible so the pool still looks right Friday afternoon.

Hard Phoenix-area tap water

Valley municipal water averages 250–400 ppm calcium hardness — among the hardest in the country. Left unchecked it scales tile lines, etches plaster, and burns out salt-cell plates years early. We balance pH and alkalinity to keep calcium dissolved instead of plated, and recommend partial drains when total hardness drifts past comfortable.

How do you handle Peoria pools that were built recently in Vistancia or Westwing Mountain?

New-build pebble pools have a specific first-year curve — plaster off-gassing, calcium curing, salt-cell break-in — that affects how chemistry behaves the first 12 months. We adjust pH and alkalinity targets during the cure period and ramp salt levels gradually so a brand-new shell isn’t fighting itself. After the first year, the routine settles into normal weekly cadence.

We use Lake Pleasant for boating in summer — does that affect home pool care?

A bit. Boats and tubes drag fine sand and lake silt back to the driveway, and that ends up in the pool by Sunday night. We see it on Lake Pleasant’s adjacent neighborhoods like Lake Pleasant Heights and Crossriver. The fix is a dedicated brushing pass and skimmer-basket clear on the Monday or Tuesday visit. We don’t upcharge — it’s baked into the route schedule for those neighborhoods.

Are pools in higher-elevation NW Peoria less stressed than central Phoenix pools?

Marginally, yes. Vistancia, Westwing, and Sonoran Mountain Ranch sit a few hundred feet higher than central Phoenix and run cooler at night — that slows chlorine burn-off in shoulder seasons and keeps water temperature more comfortable in late spring. Bi-weekly service is a more realistic option in those neighborhoods from November through February than it is on the valley floor.

Does Peoria have different water quality than Phoenix proper?

Source water is similar — mostly Salt River Project and CAP — so calcium hardness and alkalinity profiles track Phoenix tap. The bigger variable in Peoria is which subdivisions have whole-house soft-water systems plumbed into the autofill, which can throw calcium and TDS readings off. We check on the first visit and re-route fill if needed.

Do you service Trilogy at Vistancia or other gated active-adult communities?

Yes. Trilogy and Sun Village are on our routes, and we can handle either individual residential accounts or the community pools themselves under our commercial program. We carry the COI and gate-code documentation that gated active-adult communities usually require.

What’s typical first-year care for a brand-new Peoria pool?

New pools need extra brushing for the first 30 days to keep curing plaster dust from settling, careful pH and total-alkalinity dosing while the surface stabilizes, and gradual salt build-up if a salt system is installed. We run a tighter chemistry schedule for the first three months on every brand-new pool we pick up — same weekly visit, just calibrated to the cure curve.
