Phoenix pools need a different routine.

Five months of triple-digit heat, monsoon haboobs that dump dust into every backyard, hard tap water that scales tile, and the occasional January freeze night — Phoenix is one of the most demanding climates in the country to keep a swimming pool in. We’ve built our entire operation around the way pools actually behave here, not around a textbook from a wetter state.

From the historic neighborhoods of Encanto and the Coronado district, up through Biltmore and Arcadia in the shadow of Camelback Mountain, out to Desert Ridge and Tatum Ranch in the north, and south into Ahwatukee Foothills, Laveen, and South Mountain — we run weekly routes across the whole city. Every visit follows the same six-task routine, every visit leaves a written service card, and every quote comes back flat with no startup fees, no diagnostic add-ons, and no long-term contract to lock you in. Phoenix Premier Pools is licensed (AZ ROC 363870), insured, and built around earning next month rather than locking you into a contract.

Built for Phoenix water

Why Phoenix pools need real upkeep.

Three things that hit Phoenix pools harder than almost anywhere else in the country — and that we account for every single visit.

Triple-digit summer UV

Phoenix runs 100 days a year above 100°F. UV strips free chlorine in hours unless cyanuric acid (stabilizer) is in range — but stabilizer creeps up over time and locks chlorine from working. Your test strip reads fine; nothing is sanitizing. We track the free-chlorine-to-CYA ratio and flag partial drains when stabilizer climbs past about 50 ppm.

Monsoon season (Jun–Sep)

Phoenix monsoons drop walls of dust (haboobs), then dump 1–2″ of rain in 30 minutes, then leave another week of mesquite and palm debris falling overnight. Cleanup is part of your regular weekly visit — we don’t upcharge for monsoon work, and we time routes around the forecast when possible so the pool still looks right Friday afternoon.

Hard Phoenix tap water

Phoenix municipal water averages 250–400 ppm calcium hardness — among the hardest in the country. Left unchecked it scales tile lines, etches plaster, and burns out salt-cell plates years early. We balance pH and alkalinity to keep calcium dissolved instead of plated, and recommend partial drains when total hardness drifts past comfortable.

Coverage across the city

Phoenix neighborhoods on our route.

We run residential and commercial routes across the full city of Phoenix — from the Camelback Corridor to Norterra, from Coronado to South Mountain, from Maryvale out to Desert Ridge. ZIP coverage runs roughly 85003 through 85087. If you’re inside the city limits, there’s a real chance we’re already on your street weekly.

Phoenix pool questions

Phoenix pool service FAQ.

If your question isn’t here, call or text — we typically reply same-day.

How often should I service my pool in Phoenix?

From April through October we recommend weekly service. Phoenix heat burns off chlorine fast and 14 days is too long between visits — you’ll see algae starting on the steps before the next visit. November through February you can drop to bi-weekly without losing water quality, since chemistry drifts much slower in cooler months. Weekly service is the most common plan we run in Phoenix.

Do you cover all of Phoenix or just certain neighborhoods?

We run routes across the full city — Arcadia, Biltmore, Encanto, Coronado, North Phoenix, Desert Ridge, Tatum Ranch, Moon Valley, Sunnyslope, Paradise Valley Village, Ahwatukee Foothills, South Mountain, Laveen, Maryvale, and Camelback East are all on existing weekly routes. ZIP coverage runs roughly 85003 through 85087. If you’re inside the city limits, we can usually fit you in same-week.

Phoenix tap water leaves white spots on my tile. Can you fix it?

Phoenix tap water averages 250–400 ppm calcium hardness — among the hardest in the country. Once calcium has scaled tile, it usually needs a bead-blast or acid wash to remove (we can refer trusted partners for that). What weekly service does is prevent the next round: we balance pH and alkalinity to keep dissolved calcium in solution so it doesn’t scale in the first place, and we watch saturation index across the year so you’re not surprised by it.

What happens to service during monsoon season?

Service runs straight through monsoon season. Most haboob and storm debris gets handled at your next regular visit — that’s already part of the routine, no upcharge. If a storm dumps enough debris that your skimmer is blocked or the pump is starving and you can hear it cavitating, call or text and we’ll swing by between routes when we can. Bigger storm recovery sometimes calls for a one-time deep cleaning.

My pool froze on a January night — should I be worried?

Phoenix typically sees a handful of nights below 35°F each winter. Surface ice is rare and almost always cosmetic — the bigger risk is a tripped breaker leaving the pump off through a hard freeze, which can split a filter housing or crack a salt cell. We flag freeze-night equipment risk on every service card from December through February, and most modern automation panels have a freeze-protect mode we can verify is actually wired up correctly. If your equipment is older or there’s no automation, the safe move is to leave the pump running on the coldest nights.

Do you handle short-term rentals and Airbnbs in Phoenix?

Yes — short-term rentals are some of our most active accounts. STRs see high bather loads on weekends and need tighter sanitation than a typical residential pool. We adjust chemistry targets for the booking calendar, leave a service card a host can show guests, and offer mid-week recovery visits during peak booking months. For larger STR operators we run this under our commercial program.
